St Peter's Choir.
"Bless, O Lord, us thy servants who minister in thy temple.
Grant that what we sing with our lips, we may believe in our hearts;
and what we believe in our hearts, we may show forth in our lives.
Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen" (R.S.C.M Chorister's Prayer)
General Information.
St Peter's Choir meets, under the tuition of our tireless leader, Nigel Buckby, every Friday evening. Sopranos and Trebles meet from 7 - 8pm, and the other parts, Alto, Tenor and Bass from 7.30 - 8.30.
We not only help with the singing on a Sunday morning. We do special choral evensongs, weddings, special services for Easter and of course Christmas is a very busy time. And we join with choristers from around the diocese for the occasional "Come and Sing" and of course the Diocesan Choral Festival. Singing with 4-500 others in the heart of Peterborough Cathedral is a memorable and uplifting experience.
We also make time to socialise too, with bowling trips, the annual summer barbecue at Oundle Country Park, and this year a trip to the Star Hall in Finedon to support Nigel and Michael in "Oklahoma"...
So if you fancy giving it a try, why not come and see us. All are welcome, although Lucy, Becky, Beth and Jess and Meghan would be delighted if some more children came to swell their ranks. (This means girls and boys!!) as you see, we work hard, but have some fun too.
For more information, please contact Diane Buckby on 01933 389567, or just catch us after the service.....
